To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The two 911 calls placed by Joshua Cooke on February 17th, 2003. Joshua Cooke's case is now long closed, he pleaded guilty to the murder of his parents and is currently serving a 40 year sentence for the murders. After the shooting, Joshua Cooke called 911 on himself and admitted to the crime. He called again later to see why the Police had not yet shown up. The 911 calls have been referenced by many news outlets but audio of the recording has not yet been released to the public.

As a member of the media and because I plan to release this information to the public, free of charge, I ask that fee's be waived in this case.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Please note that I am a citizen of Virginia, and am using MuckRock's services to help manage and track my request.

Sincerely,

Tom Nash
