Policy manual

Our law firm represents the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. As such, I write to respond to your recent public records request for copies of the “most up-to-date policy manual of the department.”

As previously advised, our law firm represents the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. As such, I write to respond to your recent public records request for copies of the “most up-to-date policy manual of the department.”

We are in the process of gathering the requested information and would like to advise that the policy manual is compiled in conjunction with EBRSO procedures many of which, if not all, are protected from disclosure by virtue of various exceptions of the Louisiana Public Records law. Production of policies would require extensive and time consuming redactions. Please advise if there are any particular policies you want so we can narrow this request down and provide you with a response sooner.

As you know, our law firm represents the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. As such, I write to respond to your recent public records request for copies of the “most up-to-date policy manual of the department.” On April 17, 2022, you narrowed the request to the policies for “use of force policy, any policies on search warrant executions or SWAT raids, and policies on investigations and adjudication of cases involving alleged deputy misconduct.”

We have documents responsive to this request. Please be advised, however, that you must prepay for copies of these documents. The costs for copies of the available documents are as follows:
