Complaints received by the city of Dover, DE about its public parks and responses to those complaints from January 2016 until June 2016.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

It is the intent of the City of Dover to perform business in an open and public manner and to grant reasonable access to public records. The City of Dover FOIA policy complies with requirements set forth in the Delaware Code which state:
"All public records shall be open to inspection and copying during regular business hours by the custodian of the records for the appropriate public body. Reasonable access to and reasonable facilities for copying of these records shall not be denied to any citizen."

I am writing in reference to your request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for documents related to complaints received by the City of Dover about its public parks and responses to those complaints from January 2016 until June 2016. In order to proceed with your request, clarification is needed. Complaints about public parks may cover a wide variety of concerns, including maintenance issues, such as trash or tree limbs down in the parks; illegal or undesirable behavior of park visitors; or the need for additional facilities or services in City parks. They may include formal written complaints or concerns that are brought forward more informally, such as those expressed by members of the public speaking during the Open Forum segment of Dover City Council meetings. Can you please advise if you are interested in complaints related to a specific park or a particular issue? This will allow us to address your request to the departments or parties who can best respond.
