From: Ava Sasani
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All grant reporting documents submitted to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) between January 2017 and July 2019 about your usage of the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) grant.
Your organization was listed as by the DHS as a CVE grant recipient here:
https://www.dhs.gov/cvegrants
On the DHS web page listed above, there are quarterly summary updates that say your organization “developed a survey instrument to measure its effectiveness when delivering the trainings and has delivered two briefings to the community, each of which has been coupled with outreach activities to increase participation.”
I would like all deliverable reporting submitted to the DHS that explains what this aforementioned “survey instrument” is.
This should include any financial statements and documents explaining how your $51,521 CVE grant from the DHS (in 2017) has been spent on the survey instrument, or any other projects that seek to limit violent extremism. This should include at least one report for each quarter since 2017 explaining deliverables and progress to the DHS.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Ava Sasani
