Mr. Nash,

Per your request, I am providing you an estimate of cost to comply this information. Payment would be due for the estimated amount before work would begin on this request. In the event that the fee is greater than the estimate, payment would be due prior to the release of the information. In the event that the fee is less than the estimated amount, the difference would be reimbursed as soon as practicable.

Due to the large amount of data, an extension would have to be agreed upon as well. Since there are a total of five requests, you can prioritize which request you want filled first, or I can fill them in the order received. Also be aware that all information that is listed in Code of Virginia 2.2-3706 B 1-11 and 2.2-3706.1 C 1-6 will be redated in my response.

The estimate for the Johnson case is $2,800.00. It would require 102 hours to complete. I would need at least 4 weeks to complete as I am the only person to compile most of this information.

Victim: Devontaye Jermaine Johnson

Hello,

Could I get a revised cost estimate for just the bodyworn camera footage from the initial responding officers for this case?

Thank you

From: Danville Police Department

Mr. Nash,

As requested, the following is an estimate for the Johnson case that is listed below for:

“just the bodyworn camera footage from the initial responding officers for this case”

There are two videos that total 16 minutes of video from two different officers. To be clear, these are the first arriving officers on the scene in the very first minutes of the incident. The cost of the compilation will be an estimated at $75 including postage and the cost of the media. Keep in mind that all information that is listed in Code of Virginia 2.2-3706 B 1-11 and 2.2-3706.1 C 1-6 will be redated in my response.

Mr. Nash,

I just realized that I may have given you an estimate in error. In the heading of your emails you have the name Dontes Lasedric Simpson. However in the original request of this particular email has the victim’s name as Devontaye Jermaine Johnson (highlighted below.) I gave you an estimate based on two videos on the Simpson case. Which case do you wish to pursue? Simpson or Johnson? If you want the Simpson case the estimate stands. If you want the Johnson case, I will have to do some research to get an estimate for that video. Just me let me know how you want to proceed.

The files you requested were mailed for the third time to Tom Nash at 3122 Bute Lane, Richmond VA 23221 via USPS tracking number 7021 0950 0000 9748 8734. The first two were sent to a Pine Street address in Richmond VA. Both were returned to sender with one having a note stating that Tom Nash does not live there. I understand that once an information request is filled, we have do not have any control how that information is used or who it is distributed to. However I can not deliver or release that information to someone who is not a resident of Virginia.

If the USB drive does not arrive soon at 3122 Bute Lane, Richmond, VA, please let me know and we will try again.
