List of Death’s/Examinations from Leon County, Texas since January, 2010

To Whom It May Concern:
Under the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records within 10 days per statute:

Any lists for deaths/examinations/autopsies performed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner and/or Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences
For the government entity Leon County, Texas or for deaths which occurred in Leon County, Texas since January of 2010.

I allow for the editing of information which is not able to be released under statute. No documents should be withheld, but only if necessary, information not able to be released under law may be edited.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

If there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
The requested records would be helpful if they include but not be limited to the following:

5. Manner of Death
6. County of Death

Ms. Rose,

Thank you for your help and I apologize for the confusion.

I have received some of the requested records and letters.

The letter from Ms. Fourt on March 1st, 2018, states:
"Therefore, attached to this email is an excel spreadsheet containing all the data you requested from April 2011 to present. However, please note that the Medical Examiner’s Office is unable to provide any data prior to April of 2011 as that is the date their new software was implemented. Any search for data prior to that date would require a manual search that would certainly be cost prohibitive. Please let me know if attached list is acceptable or if you wish to be provided with an estimate of charges for a manual search for that time frame. Or, if you know of a specific case during that time frame, please provide. "

Please provide a cost estimate to manually search the records in order to provide a list of deaths from January 2010 through April 2011.

Thank you for providing a cost estimate in order to entirely fulfill the original records request which was made on February 21st.

I am inclined to provide the funds in order to complete the original request entirely but I do have some discrepancies that I'd like to address:

There were no exceptions cited for withholding any information in the records provided on March 1st and March 8th besides the need for a physical inspection of records prior to April, 2011.

There are multiple decedents from Leon County Texas which were sent to Dallas Medical Examiner but are missing from the list which has been provided so far.

Can you please advise if there were exceptions sought by your office or the Leon County JPs which were not cited?
Or can you please double check your records?

Two examples of deaths from Leon County Texas which were sent your your organization in the time frame requested but were not listed in the response to this request would be the following couple from Normangee, Leon County Texas whom are believed to have died in the city of Normangee which is located in Leon County Texas.

Decedents were found on January 23rd, 2018.
Michael Lee Redmond, 63
Stephanie Hope Redmon, 48
