Dear Mr. Musgrave,

Please be advised that I am in receipt of your request pursuant to APRA
wherein you request a full list of the teachers who have received layoff
letters for the 2014-2015 school year, as well as the full list of
teachers' names submitted to the Rhode Island Department of Education for
possible layoff for the 2014-2015 school year.

Pursuant to R.I.G.L 38-2-2, the Cumberland School Department contends that
the disclosure of the information requested would constitute a clearly
unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. The information requested is
directly related to an employee's job performance which is not subject to
the Open Meetings Act. Teachers are issued "layoff" letters for a myriad
of reasons, some of which are related to performance. To provide such a
list is not in the public interest.

I would be happy to provide you with a list of all teachers employed by the
Cumberland School Department after our August 14, 2014 school committee
meeting. At that time, the majority of our positions will be filled.

If you wish to request such information, please contact me.

Thank you.

Tina
