Communications

From: Matt Kasper

To Freedom of Information Act Officer:

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

All electronic communication and attachments sent and received between Village President James V. Boone and representatives of Exelon Generation between November 1, 2017 and November 28, 2017. The email domain for Exelon Generation is @exeloncorp.com.

I am requesting a waiver or a reduction of fees since the requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes, and the organization I work for, Energy and Policy Institute, can be classified as a representative of the news media. Additionally, I have accounts with Republic Report and Huffington Post that are used to disseminate information received from public record requests. The public is particularly interested in the workings of public officials with Exelon Generation, specifically the Quad Cities Station, which was highlighted in a recent article: https://projects.bettergov.org/power-struggle/

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matt Kasper

From: Village Clerk

I have attached a PDF file of the emails received in this office from Exelon. James Boone does not have access or use the Village email account. I personally oversee the account and as you can see I never responded to the emails sent. The few email addresses I have blacked out are to my understanding personal email addresses, per FOIA I will not share the addresses. I personally could not tell you why the individuals were even sent the email. To the best of my knowledge it was sent as a group email. I was told the jskcordova@msn.com was a contact at the Cordova Township office, I can not verify this information.

I hope this fulfills your request, if it does not please feel free to contact the Village again through this email account.

Thank you,
Christina Bankes
