Since April 2017, I request an electronic copy of every I-247A form, which are accompanied by I-200 and/or I-205 forms sent to the Cook County Jail by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
For each I-247A form, which are accompanied by I-200 and/or I-205, I request a copy of the outcome of the request.
Please provide the records electronically as described in 5 ILCS 140/6(a).
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Per Cook County Ordinance uploaded at the link below, the CCSO does not track or honor ICE detainers. Individual detainers are placed in an inmate's paper mittimus pack, but we do not track detainers on an aggregate level and therefore are unable to pull such records without searching the mittimus packs of every detainee who has come into CCDOC custody. We process up to one hundred thousand individuals every year.

I wanted to follow up on this request and continue to seek clarification. As I mentioned on the phone, it seems implausible that the jail received physical I-247A form from ICE. While your office explained that the physical form travels with inmates, it is still unclear how ICE *transmits* the forms to your office. I have previously stated that I believe electronic records exist that are responsive to my request. I've contacted your office multiple times to confer but I haven't heard back yet.
