Dear Public Access Counselor,

On May 3, 2018, I submitted Freedom of Information Act request via fax to the designated fax number provided by the Cook County Assessor’s Office, for the following information:

A list of of all tax exempt parcels in Cook County that includes the PIN, and the entity that the exemption is for.

Cook County has previously acknowledged requests sent to this fax number, but has failed to respond to this request or prior ones.

Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/3) (from Ch. 116, par. 203) requires that an agency provide a response to a public records request within five business days of receipt of that request.

I’m requesting that the Assessor’s office be instructed to provide acknowledgement of this request and the responsive materials, as numerous other agencies have done with no issues when similar materials were requested.

Thank you for your help with this appeal of my denial of access.
