Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

Documents and correspondence generated within the department in reference to lawsuit No. 10 CV 7382, filed in 2010.
In particular, any assessment or reports on the use of polygraphs for pre-employment screening, in this case or generally.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Please be advised that the Sheriff's Employment Action Manual is available online here<http://www.cookcountysheriff.org/employment/EmploymentActionProcedures.html>. SEAM Article A governs hiring processes including polygraph. Insofar as your request is for any privileged or deliberative work product and correspondence concerning Bibbs v. Cook County, the CCSO is unable to release such information pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(f) and (m).

You have a right to have your request reviewed by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. You can file your Request for Review with the PAC by writing to the Public Access Counselor- Office of the Attorney General, 500 South 2nd Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706.

You also have the right to seek judicial review of your request by filing a lawsuit in the State circuit court. If you choose to file a Request for Review with the PAC, you must do so within 60 calendar days of the date of this correspondence. Please note that you must include a copy of your original FOIA request and this correspondence when filing a Request for Review with the PAC.
