From: Bert Klasey

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:

Emails to, from, or between Connecticut Lottery employees pertaining to, or containing the name "Rick Green".

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. ยง 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Bert Klasey

Dear Mr. Klasey,

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (the "CLC") acknowledges receipt of your request under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act (the "Act").

Our preliminary search has identified approximately 293 e-mails. In order to expedite our handling of your request, we would appreciate you clarifying it by responding to these questions:

1. Our initial search suggests that there are two different individuals with the requested name. Do you seek e-mails concerning both individuals?

2. With respect to Rick Green who is the Hartford Courant reporter, are you interested in receiving (a) all attachments to the e-mails, including attachments that are press clippings, and (b) e-mails that contain nothing more than press clippings copied into the e-mails? Also, (c) is there a particular subject matter by which you might narrow your request?

Once we hear back from you, we will examine the e-mails for responsiveness to your clarified request and potential exemptions under the Act and provide you with a schedule for producing the responsive e-mails as promptly as reasonably possible under all the circumstances.

The CLC reserves all, and does not waive any, of its rights and defenses in connection with your request. Thank you.
