Dear Ms. Curtis,
This is to acknowledge receipt of and respond to your above-referenced request under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, dated June 2, 2016.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) is not the state agency with purview over the state's gun laws and regulations. Therefore, the agency does not have any records responsive to your request. If you have not already done so, you may wish to contact the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection's Special Licensing and Firearms Unit. The Public Information Officer for DESPP is Scott DeVico. His email address is scott.devico@ct.gov.
I hope that this information is helpful. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Maura

From: MuckRock
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all....
- Policies/procedures/reports on issuance of permits/licenses
- Policies/procedures/reports on revocations of gun licenses/permits
- Policies/procedures/copies of local gun policies
- Selling/purchase including provisions for specific venues, including but not limited to gun shows
- Policies/procedures for out of state transfers
Please include all available segregable data.
If further clarification is necessary, a conversation would happily be arranged.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Caroline Curtis

Ms. Curtis,
In response to your email sent earlier today regarding the above referenced FOIA request, I am again forwarding to you the email response that I sent to you on Friday, June 3, 2016. To reiterate what I explained in the Department's June 3rd response, the Department of Public Health does not have any jurisdiction or authority over the state's gun laws and regulations. As such, we do not have any records or information that would be responsive to your request. If you have not already done so, you should direct your request to the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP). The Public Information Officer for DESPP is Scott DeVico. His email address is scott.devico@ct.gov<mailto:scott.devico@ct.gov>.
Since the Department of Public Health does not have information responsive to your request, this file is now closed in our office. Please direct any further inquiries you may have on this FOIA request to DESPP.
Thank you,
Maura
