Hi Colleen,

I would like to word this differently...

SAMPLE REQUEST:
Dear Custodian,
I request the following documents pursuant to the Colorado Open Records Act (“CORA”).
“All emails and calendar items related to the homeless encampment sweep/cleanup/abatement and/or ordinance enforcement, including but not limited to enforcement of DRMC s. 49-246, at or around Lincoln and Colfax on 7/29/20”
Please provide the requested records for inspection and copying within three days of receipt of this letter. If possible, please provide the records via email or, if they are too large, on a flash drive, which I will pick up from you upon request. Please export all email files to PDF instead of email file.
As used in these requests, the term “document” should be read to include all records as defined in C.R.S. § 24-72-202(6)(a)(1) & 202(7) and in C.R.S. § 24-72-302(4). These records are not requested for commercial use.
If any data or information that is protected from release by applicable law is included within responsive documents that are not comprised entirely thereof, please redact and produce the remainder of the document pursuant to Ritter v. Jones, 207 P.3d 954, 960 (Colo. App. 2009) (“[W]here a single document contains both public and confidential information, it is appropriate to redact the confidential information prior to public inspection.”).
Please give me a call if you have any questions. You may invoice me for up to $25.00 of costs, or contact me for authorization if costs will exceed that amount.

Thank you,
David Hagan

Hi Colleen,

The governor and mayor didn’t have a single email between them about the sweep at Lincoln park? I find it hard to believe they didn’t communicate. It was done on state property and it involved state, city, and county property. Please look again and provide any email from the governors office and mayors office 3 days before and 3 days after if it has anything to do with the sweep. Also, I requested text messages between the governor and anyone he talked to about the sweep at Lincoln park and was told there were not any. I know for a fact that Tay and Polis were texting that day. Please provide me those texts. Tay talked about texting with him at his press conference, after being assaulted by police.

Thanks,
David
