From: Paul Tepper
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Colorado Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
I would like to learn: 1) which local, state and national law enforcement agencies can currently submit probe photos to be run through the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles face recognition system and, 2) which law enforcement agencies actually submitted probe photos from January 1, 2020 to the date of the most recently available data.
Please provide any lists, logs or datasets showing this information. With regard to agencies that have submitted probe photos, please provide logs, lists or datasets describing, as available, the requesting organization, the number of requests made, the dates of the requests, and the number of requests granted. If the Department maintains this information in an Excel spreadsheet, I request that the record be produced in this format.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Paul Tepper
