Pursuant to the Colorado Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all memos, papers, internal documents, or other records related to researcher Beth William's discovery of chronic wasting disease at a CSU wildlife research facility in 1967. I am a reporter for The Nation magazine, working on a story about the origins and current trajectory of CWD, and respectfully request a fee waiver.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Hi, we have nothing in our "official" records anymore given the passage of time. The interview was done on the part of those individuals on their own without any notice to or involvement of the university. I have reached out to three folks who worked with her to see if they have retained any records from that time and am awaiting answers or for material to be provided to me. It sounds like the only thing we may have are communications, drafts, etc. between her and one of her CSU co-authors, Tom Hobbs, about an academic paper they published. Of course, this is all paper being well before emails and the like. He is going to provide the folder he has of papers and notes, and I'll look at it and then scan and send as appropriate. The question is, do you want that kind of thing?
Anyway, let me know. I have dug about as much as I can and this appears to be the only possible items that fit the response.
