From: Dillon Bergin

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) , I am hereby requesting raw data — in a machine-readable database or spreadsheet format such as Excel, CSV, Access, SQL or XML — used in the creation of a map attached to this request titled "2020 June - DPD - Industrial Site Map v3 (TDLs)." This map was provided to Anthony Moser (email: anthony.moser@gmail.com) in response to a previous FOIA request to the Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD). It is my understanding that Bradley Roback and Kathleen Dickhut, both of the Bureau of Citywide Systems & Historic Preservation branch of DPD, led the process of acquiring the data and creating this map. Attached to this request as a PDF titled "map_emails" is an email conversation between Roback, Dickhut, and several others on DPD, discussing the creation of this map and the process of finding the data.

If the map has been updated to a new version beyond "2020 June - DPD - Industrial Site Map v3 (TDLs)", I request the updated map and raw data — in a machine-readable database or spreadsheet format such as Excel, CSV, Access, SQL or XML — used in the creation of that map.

The data should include all fields in the database or spreadsheets that contain non-exempt information, including but no limited to: the name of the building or factory, its geolocation, and its street address. I also request all documentation that describes the layout of the database’s tables and fields, and that provides the definitions of any field names, codes, and abbreviations used in the database. This information may be gathered together in a single document like a data dictionary, entity layout, or user's guide. If that is the case, I request access to and copy of said document.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request fulfilled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available, and by USB or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,
Dillon Bergin

Hi there,

If you're looking at this request, this message is just to update that the request was fulfilled after I called the department directly on 9/16/2022. The response was sent directly to my email, but I wanted to make sure the data could be found here as well.
