Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

1. Provide a list or records of all severance agreements including severance amounts and agreement dates from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
2. Provide a list or records of all settlements including settlement amounts and settlement dates from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

Severance and Settlement may be used interchangeably and I do not want to exclude one or the other. This request is not limited to union settlements.

Because this request is in the public interest for Illinois nonprofit The FOIA Bakery’s work to advocate for public education, please waive any fees in accordance with 5 ILCS § 140/6(c). Feel free to contact me with any questions, or if clarification is needed.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) responds to all public records requests in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.

RESPONSE: The CPS FOIA Office conducted a search and there are no responsive documents as per your request. 2. Provide a list or records of all settlements including settlement amounts and settlement dates from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. RESPONSE : Documents responsive to your request concerning settlements less than $50k are available to download via the CPS FOIA Center at www.cps.edu/FOIARequests . Please log in with your username and password to access the records. Under the rules of FOIA, student names and parent names have been redacted pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/7.5(r) which exempts personally identifiable student information in accordance with the Illinois School Student Records Act 105 ILCS 10/1 et seq. Under the rules of FOIA, private information and unique identifiers contained within public records are exempt from disclosure; those portions have been redacted including, private home addresses p ursuant to 5 ILCS 140/7 (1)(b) and 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(c). To locate documents responsive to your request concerning settlements more than $50k can be found on the Chicago Board of Education website, under past meeting actions: https://www.cpsboe.org/meetings/past-meetings .
