Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

The CPD directive on "POLICE ASSOCIATIONS, CLUBS, AND ETHNIC / FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS" (found here: http://directives.chicagopolice.org/directives/data/a7a57be2-1292279e-2c512-922b-3f22a5bc2f5a5680.html) states that "Each police association, club, and ethnic / fraternal organization, excluding recognized bargaining agents, requesting to be recognized by the Department must prepare a letter indicating the proper name of the organization, the mission statement, a declaration that it's a not-for-profit organization, its mailing address, telephone number, and a roster of its officers. The letter will be submitted to the Chief, Bureau of Administration by 1 March of each year."

I request copies of all letters from police associations, clubs, and ethnic / fraternal organizations submitted to the Chief, Bureau of Administration since 2012. Please also provide documents sufficient to show a list of all police associations, clubs, and ethnic / fraternal organizations approved between 2012 and the present.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

There is need for consultation, which shall be concluded with all practicable speed, with another public body or among two or more components of a public body having a substantial interest in the determination or in the subject matter of the request. It is therefore necessary to extend the time for response by five business days as permitted by 5 ILCS 140/3(e).

CPD will forward our response on or before July 19, 2018.
