From: Chicago Police Department

Mr. Ader:

I am reviewing your Request for Review regarding a response from the Chicago Police Department to your request for "All retained 'Grant Proposal Concept Instructions' forms (see http://directives.chicagopolice.org/forms/CPD-15.141.pdf for reference) from January 1st 2017 to April 24th 2018".

Are you seeking the instructions that are referenced in the top right corner of the pdf http://directives.chicagopolice.org/forms/CPD-15.141.pdf ("SEE REVERSE SIDE FOR INSTRUCTIONS")? If so, I believe the instructions are noted on the second page of the pdf.

If this is not what you are seeking, please clarify.

Thank you,

From: J Ader

Hi Laura,

Sorry for the confusion from my end - I am looking for all copies of the entire "Grant Proposal Concept form" document linked (known as CPD-15.141 - see http://directives.chicagopolice.org/directives/data/a7a57be2-12abe584-90812-abf8-7ee638b3a911bb36.html) - both the "GRANT PROPOSAL CONCEPT" page and the "GRANT PROPOSAL CONCEPT INSTRUCTIONS" page - from January 1st 2017 to April 24th 2018".

Let me know if this makes more sense or if you need any further information from my end.

Thanks,
- J. Ader

From: Chicago Police Department

Thank you. Do you mean all of the copies of 15.141 that were completed by individuals submitting proposals for the specified date range? Or different versions of the blank form?

From: J Ader

Hi Laura,

Yes, I do mean "all of the copies of 15.141 that were completed by individuals submitting proposals for the specified date range" - thanks again for responding back.

Let me know if you need anything else from my end.

-J. Ader

From: J Ader

I guess that I should also further clarify with specificity - not just individuals but any agencies or other entities submitting these during the time-frame as well.

Thanks again,
- J. Ader

From: Chicago Police Department

Thank you.

It is not clear to me that your request for "All retained 'Grant Proposal Concept Instructions' forms (see http://directives.chicagopolice.org/forms/CPD-15.141.pdf for reference) from January 1st 2017 to April 24th 2018" accurately described the records you sought, which as I understand it, were all completed Grant Proposal Concept forms submitted to CPD from January 1st 2017 to April 24th 2018. It might be most efficient for you to submit a new FOIA request to CPD more clearly stating the records you seek. Of course, if CPD does not provide you with those records, you may submit another Request for Review to our office.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thank you,

Mr. Ader: Did you decide to submit a new FOIA request to CPD and withdraw this Request for Review? Or would you like to move forward with this Request for Review?
