Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:
According to a Chicago SunTimes Report, (http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/johnson-escalante-don-body-cameras-to-patrol-for-cpd-in-austin/)
"Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson was just another officer on the street Friday night, out patrolling in the West Side Austin district. And he was wearing a body camera. So was First Deputy John Escalante, as the two responded to “routine’ calls including a burglary, a “man down,” and various traffic incidents."
Therefor under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, I am requesting a copy of all body cam footage for offices Eddie Johnson and John Escalante during the week of May 1 and May 8th 2016 for all shifts.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. Additionally, this request is being made by the Lucy Parsons Labs, a registered non-profit in the state of Illinois.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
