To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all records that would appear on a "Complaint for Search" between 2012 and the date of processing this request.

As we do not have access to the names of data fields, we cannot provide a list of exact field names. Your agency has trivial access to this information (in contrast to the public), so we ask that your department spend the insignificant amount of time required to discover these data fields.

Search warrant information has been requested in the past by Lucy Parsons Labs in the past [1] and has most notably been found in the CLEAR database. I kindly ask that your agency expand the search beyond CLEAR, wherever relevant.

As the statute allows, please provide me with an excel spreadsheet of these records.

The records responsive to this request will be used to build a greater public understanding of Chicago's decisions, policies, procedures, rules, standards, and other aspects of government activity that affect the conduct of government and the lives of any or all of the people. As such, I humbly ask that the unduly burdensome exemption be waived, as the public interest greatly outweighs the burden on the public body. Consider that the burden is placed on the public body to show that the burden on the public body is outweighed by the public's interest.

Please ensure that this request is also received and processed by R&D.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matt Chapman

Good afternoon,

The attached response was provided via the web portal on August 23, 2019 and opened six times by the requester. I just noticed that CPD used an incorrect first name on our response letter.

Sincerely,

Gary Rubenstein, FOIA Officer
Chicago Transit Authority
