Pursuant to the North Carolina Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
Copies of any internal manuals, instructions, forms or checksheets for how the law enforcement agency processes records requests.
I am a member of the news media and request classification as such. I have previously written about the government and its activities, with some reaching over 100,000 readers. As my primary purpose is to inform about government activities by reporting on it and making the raw data available, I request that fees be waived.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Good morning! I hope you are doing well. I have attached the response to your public records request. In addition, I have also copy and pasted your initial request below.
Here is the response from our citywide records program manager as well:
I would inform the requestor that the City of Charlotte has an overall public records policy and request system and that CMPD is guided by the policies and procedures that are set at a Citywide level. You could then provide them the Public Records Policy (which guides the overall process) and the reference guide for the records tracker (which guides the process of entering requests into the system). You could also add any additional guidelines or instructions you might have at a departmental level (which you might or might not have).
