To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

All records pertaining to the licensee referred to below by name and personal identifiers:

Stephen Caracappa: Private Investigator License # 829; year of birth 1941; first 5 digits of SSN 115-32.

Please note that Stephen Caracappa has been deceased since 2017. Proof of death (the U.S. Bureau of Prisons record of his death in federal custody) is attached as a PDF.

Privacy interests are diminished post-mortem and all records should be released due to the public interest in Caracappa's documented career as an associate of organized crime while a sworn officer of the New York City Police Department.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

T. McElwee

Good morning T. McElwee,

I received your public records request and will start gathering the information you have requested. Due to the age of the records, I will need to search our archived records and that may take some time. I should be able to have the records ready no later than February 26, 2021 if that works for you.

Please let me know and enjoy the rest of your week.

Kind regards,

Good afternoon,

I have gathered everything we have on Mr. Stephen Caracappa. To make it faster and easier to get to you, I redacted SSN, certain addresses, and date of birth. I am sure you already have all of that anyway. By doing so I am able to email you the information without our system kicking it back due to personal identifiable numbers.

Thank you for your patience and I hope you find the information helpful.
