Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
- A list of all arrest-related deaths during incidents involving California City PD officers since 2004.
- A list of all homicides by California City PD officers since 2004.
- A list of all officer-involved shootings by California City PD officers since 2004.
- A list of all complaints made by civilians against California City PD officers alleging excessive or inappropriate use of force since 2004, including outcomes of any subsequent inquiries.
In each case, please provide as much detail as is possible, including but not limited to: date of incident, street address of incident, identities/ages/sexes/races of the deputies and civilians involved, weapons used, circumstances of incident, police incident report or officer's narrative.
If fulfilling part of this request should delay your expected response time, please do not wait until all the information is available but rather release elements as they become available.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or DVD/CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

I believe this inquiry has already been dealt with. Chief Hurtado and I
responded to the first email by sending a packet of what was requested. An
email was also sent, stating there have been no arrest related deaths
during the time frame requested. There have been no homicides by California
City PD officers during the time frame requested. There have been no
officer involved shootings during the time frame requested. At this point I
feel there isn't anything else I can send you. If you have further
questions you can contact me.
