Wozniak speaker's fee (UC Berkeley)

Dear Mr. Skelding:

This will acknowledge and respond to your Public Records Act request below.
Appropriate offices are being notified of your request. Records identified
as responsive to your request will be reviewed, and made available for your
access, in accordance with relevant law and University policy. The
estimated date of production is at least 8 weeks, which will vary
accordingly due to the nature, complexity, and/or length of the request.
Whenever possible we will provide records on a rolling basis, as they
become available.

Although the requested records have not yet been fully gathered and
reviewed, it is possible that the requested material may contain
information exempt from disclosure pursuant to the Public Records Act.
However, this is not a determination that the requested records are
necessarily exempt from disclosure. This office will provide you with a
status update after the requested records have been thoroughly reviewed.

Please note that the California Public Records Act allows agencies to make
records available “upon payment of fees covering direct costs of
duplication.” (Government Code Section 6253(b)). The charge for disclosable
records are normally provided at a cost of $0.20 per page for scanned or
paper copy, and will be sent upon receipt of payment of all
scanning/copying costs.

Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, §
3(b)), I hereby request the following records regarding Steve Wozniak's May
2013 commencement address at the University of California, Berkeley:

1. Any and all communications between any representatives of Steve Wozniak
and the United of California, Berkeley and/or any representatives of the
University of California, Berkeley regarding his speech.

2. Any and all written agreements, contracts or riders created for
Wozniak's speech.

I am willing to accept immediately releasable portions of my request in
anticipation of a full response.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this
request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made
available to the general public free of charge as part of the public
information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the
news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for
commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would
inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would
prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available
or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I
look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar
days, as the statute requires.
