Good afternoon,

You have reached the "Public Access to Judicial Administrative Records" (PAJAR) team at the Judicial Council of California. The PAJAR team responds to requests to inspect "judicial administrative records" pursuant to rule 10.500 of the California Rules of Court. You can find information about rule 10.500, the process for requesting records, and the types of records available through this process at www.courts.ca.gov/publicrecords.htm<http://www.courts.ca.gov/publicrecords.htm>.

Please note that the California Public Records Act (Gov. Code, § 6250 et seq.) (CPRA) does not apply to judicial branch entities. (See Gov. Code, §§ 6252(f); Cal. Const., art. VI.). Instead, rule 10.500 of the California Rules of Court applies, providing public access to "judicial administrative records."

Under rule 10.500(e)(6), the council has 10 calendar days from receipt of a request to notify the requester of its determination about whether it has disclosable responsive records and the reasons for the determination. You submitted your request to the council on Saturday, June 12 while our office was closed. Because your request was received during our business hours on Monday, June 14, the 10-day deadline would conclude on Thursday, June 24. (See, e.g., Civ. Code, §§ 7, 10-11; Code Civ. Proc., §§ 10, 12, 12a.)

We will be able to notify you of our determination about whether we have responsive records that are disclosable by or before Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Sincerely,

Public Access to Judicial Administrative Records
