Dear Ms. Russell:
The Department of California Highway Patrol (Department) has reviewed your request for public records pursuant to the California Public Records Act (CPRA) (Gov. Code, § 6250 et seq.), dated June 30, 2017. The Department received your request on July 3, 2017.
In your request, you asked for:
· Policies and trainings regarding cooperation and/or coordination between your department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement
The Department is determining whether you seek copies of disclosable public records in the Department's possession. Your request requires Department staff to search for, collect, and appropriately examine a voluminous amount of separate and distinct records that are demanded in a single request. This request also requires Department staff to search for and collect the requested records from separate field facilities.
Accordingly, the Department is extending its 10-day response timeframe by an additional 14 days, as authorized by Government Code section 6253, subdivision (c).
On or before July 27, 2017, the Department will notify you of its determination regarding your request. If you have any questions related to the content of this notification, please direct them to this office.

Dear Ms. Russell:
The Department of California Highway Patrol (Department) has reviewed your request for public records pursuant to the California Public Records Act (CPRA) (Gov. Code, § 6250 et seq.), dated June 30, 2017. The Department received your request on July 3, 2017. On July 13, the Department extended its 10-day response timeframe by an additional 14 days, as authorized by Government Code section 6253, subdivision (c), to July 27, 2017.
In your request, you asked for:
· Policies and trainings regarding cooperation and/or coordination between your department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement
The Department has determined that it possesses public records that are responsive to your request, and has compiled a 50-page set of records.
DUPLICATION FEE
To offset its duplication costs, the Department currently charges requesters a duplication fee of $0.30 per page and $5.00 per compact disc (CD) for records. Therefore, if you wish to receive hard copies of these records, please send a check in the amount of $15.00 to the California Highway Patrol, Office of Community Outreach and Media Relations, P.O. Box 942898, Sacramento, CA 94298-0001 (Attention: Janelle Dunham). Please make the check payable to the "California Highway Patrol" and note file no. 2017-38 on the check. Alternatively, if you would like to receive electronic copies of these records on CD, please send a check in the amount of $5.00. Once the Department receives this payment, these records will be prepared and mailed to you on an expedited basis.
