To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

3. Are there any current LASD reserve deputies that attended these decertified post academies?
4. Who are they and when did they go back to a certified academy?
5. Copy of the POST Training Planner as of June 1, 2018 (or a date thereafter if the date indicated on the report is by default the date the report is run) for reserve peace officers employed by LASD. The report should be for the January 1, 2017-December 31, 2018 CPT Cycle.
6. Copy of the POST Training Planner for reserve peace officers employed by LASD for the 2015-2017 cycle.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jeff Wesson

Hello Mr. Wesson,
The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is still researching your California Public Records Act (CPRA) Request.
Pursuant to Government Code 6253(c), POST will need additional time to review your request. We will respond by Tuesday, August 7, 2018 to inform you if we will be able to fulfill your request.
In the meantime, I have some follow-up questions to assist me with your request:

* In requests 5 and 6, the term "POST Training Planner" is used, which is not a term that POST uses. Can you please clarify what records you are seeking with these 2 requests?
* Can you please provide date ranges for request 7? POST does not track modular academy class numbers.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Jeff -

I have the responsive documents as a result of your revised request for "Class rosters."

Please note the following:

1. The "Class" rosters you have requested follow their corresponding "Course" roster which indicates the Mod A/B/C Courses offered by LASD in the years requested;
2. Where a "Course" roster indicates a "0" next to the Mod A/B/C course, indicates there are no responsive documents in the possession of POST;
3. Where a "Course" roster indicates Mod A/B/C are "archived" and no rosters were submitted to POST, indicates there are no responsive documents in the possession of POST;
4. Where a "Course" roster indicates Mod I, II, III are not available/course under modification, indicates the course has not been offered due to its modification status.

Finally -

POST has no responsive documents for the following "Class rosters" as requested by you:

1. 1980/81 Mod A/B/C;
2. 1981/82 Mod A/B;
3. 1982/83 Mod A/B/C;
4. 2004/05 Mod A/B/C;
5. 2008/09 Mod A/B/C;
6. 2018/19 Mod A/B/C.

I hope this helps to clarify the response to your requests.

Regards,
Dave

Have a safe day!
