Hello Ms. Lipton,

This is in response to your recent request to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans, Department). While you refer to your request under the Freedom of Information (FOIA), Caltrans is responding pursuant to the California Public Records Act (CPRA; Government Code sections 6250-6276) since FOIA applies to the federal government only.

You requested “All contracts, agreements, memorandums of understanding, and associated materials between Hyperloop Transport Technologies and the State of California regarding the development of the Hyperloop”

Please understand that this response is regarding documents, files and/or records maintained by this agency only; the Department is not responding on behalf of all state agencies in California.

After a diligent search, we are unable to locate responsive documents. If there are records that you are certain exist or if you can be any more specific, we will be happy to renew our search.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything further at this time.

Regards,

Marcy Freer | Statewide Public Records Officer | Caltrans
