Dear Records Officer,

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

-- The list of jurisdictions with a local firearms dealer inspection program

The California Department of Justice's website states that firearms dealers are required to pay a $95 annual inspection fee per dealership location unless such dealership is located in a jurisdiction with a local inspection program. The website states that a list of those jurisdictions is available upon request. I am requesting the most recent version of that list.

The above information is located on the California Department of Justice's website here: https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/dlrfaqs

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am a reporter for The Trace, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization. I am making this request through MuckRock's public records request management service, which I use to better track my public records requests.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available.

While I prefer to receive the requested materials via email, if for any reason you require a standing mailing address, please use the following:

Sincerely,

Brian Freskos
