From: Brian Waters
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Vermont Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any "Brady letters" sent by your office, regarding the credibility or dishonesty of police officers, from 2015 until present. "Brady" refers to the 1963 US Supreme Court case, "Brady v. Maryland," which requires prosecutors to turn over certain materials to the defense, including information on the credibility of police officers. A recent news story describing one such letter is available here: https://vtdigger.org/2019/02/01/ag-probing-northfield-police-chief-allegation-untruthfulness/.
For clarification, I am not asking for all Brady letters sent from your office. I am only asking for those which discuss the credibility or honesty of police officers.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Brian Waters

Hello Justin,
I submitted a public records request to your office on August 20 and haven't received a response. I just called in and spoke with you, and asked me to re-submit the request. The original request should be attached below.
Thanks,
Brian Waters
PS, the original request was submitted via email to James Pepper. Let me know if there is a better contact for public records request in the future, or if James is the right person.

Brian, thank you for re-submitting your request. You noted that the original request was sent to James Pepper. James is located in our central office and since you sent him the request it explains why our office here in Burlington had not responded.
Pepper, would you be able to respond to Brian's request below? If I can do anything to assist please let me know.
Thank you,
Justin
