Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

The metadata of emails which are sent to, from, including being CCed or BCCed by Barbara Lark from January 1, 2022 to February 27, 2023 including the one of the following keywords: "ShotSpotter", "Shot Spotter" or "gunshot detection technology".

The specific metadata data points I'm interested in are: to address(es), from address, cc address(es), bcc address(es), sent date/time, received date/time, subject line, and names of all attachments. This request does not seek the contents of the emails themselves, and only the specified email metadata. Please provide me with the records in an Excel format.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

The City of Buffalo Police Department is in receipt of your Freedom of Information Law request. Please allow this letter to serve as an acknowledgment of your request pursuant to New York State Public Officer’s Law, Section 89, entitled Freedom of Information Law.

Please be advised that your request is being processed by the Police Department. BPD will then conduct a diligent search to determine whether we are in possession of the record for which you seek access. Due to the large number of requests the department is currently handling, please allow (30) business days for a determination regarding your request for records.

Please be advised also that access to Public Officers Law, 87(1)(b), the costs for redacted and/ or copied material emailed or mailed is $0.25 per page not in the access of 9”x14”, any street surveillance is $43.00 per disk and any redacted body cam footage starts at $42.68.
