FOIL Request: (The Buffalo Police Departments use of shotspotter and
agreements)

The City of Buffalo Police Department (BPD) is in receipt of your Freedom
of Information Law request. Please allow this letter to serve as an
acknowledgment of your request pursuant to New York State Public Officer’s
Law, Section 89, entitled Freedom of Information Law.

The BPD has diligently and exhaustively researched your request for
information pertaining to above mentioned. Said search revealed only
inter-agency materials and agreements that are exempt from disclosure
pursuant to FOIL (id. at 87[2][g]). These materials not do contain any
statistics, instructions to staff, final policy determinations, or other

Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the
following records:

All documentation on ShotSpotter (shotspotter.com) including, but not
limited to, the following:

- Initial Bid Documents
- Current and previous contracts with ShotSpotter
- Requests for Proposals
- Memorandum(s) of Understanding
- Any/all privacy impact assessments
- Any/all instructional materials or presentations
- Any/all brochures or advertisements received from ShotSpotter
- Use policies and standard operating procedures
- Data retention policies
- Letters of Interest
- Usage policies
- Any/all informal agreements that reference "ShotSpotter" or otherwise
guide it use or the relationship between this agency and the provider or
developer of the products.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and
this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform
me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer
the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or
CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I
look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business
days, as the statute requires.
