Pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any police reports or arrest records alleging a violation of Wis. Stat. § 942.01 ("defamation") or Wis. Stat. § 942.03. This request is limited to records after October 1, 2019.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Good morning,
In reference to your above attached records request, our agency had one incident relating to Wis. Stat. 942.01 or Wis. Stat. 942.03 after October 1, 2019. This incident resulted with charges being referred to the District Attorney's office. The District Attorney's office has denied the release of the record at this time due to the potential of the safety or welfare of the victim or witness being impaired. Please feel free to submit another request at a later date. At which time, your request will be reviewed again.
Open records denials are subject to review by mandamus under Wis Stat. 19.37 (10 or upon application to the Attorney General or District Attorney. Wis State Stat. 19.35 (4)(b).
