From: Rahima Nasa

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:

Any and all incident reports (including descriptions of the crime) that have been marked or investigated as potential hate crimes motivated by anti-heterosexual bias since Jan. 1, 2010. I'm looking for the report of a bias related incident that took place on 12/10/2015.

This request is made as part of the Documenting Hate Project, a collaboration involving dozens of news organizations, led by ProPublica. Coverage from the project is compiled at https://projects.propublica.org/graphics/hatecrimes#hatecrime-coverage.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Rahima Nasa

Hi Lieutenant Duval,
Thank you so much looking into my request. If it helps I believe the date for the potential bias related incidents took place on the following dates:
12/10/2015
09/02/2016
12/19/2016

If you could just run those three days for the any bias-related incidents that would be very helpful.

Best,
Rahima Nasa

Thanks, Lieutenant Duval!

From: BRISTOL POLICE DEPARTMENT

This is the third time I am responding to this request.

The incident that took place on 12-10-15 (15-57045) is subject to
erasure. I am unable to disclose the record.
The incident that took place on 09-02-16 is attached (16-36347). The
case is pending. I believe that this incident was mislabeled as a hate
crime.
Also attached is the incident from 12-19-16 (16-50752). I believe that
this is also mislabeled.
