Hi Jasper,

I've been told that the BPD does have copies of all speeding tickets for each district, however, they are not categorized by street. I also checked with the RMV, and they have an electronic version on all BPD tickets issued, but they do not categorize by street either.

From just one district (Alston/Brighton), it is estimated that it will take approximately 60 hours to search through the tickets and segregate the Commonwealth Avenue speeding tickets. Again, this is only one section of Commonwealth Avenue. The rest falls into the Back Bay (District 4) and would be approximately an additional 60 hours.

A cost estimate to pull this all together would be approximately $1,200.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Mr. Estrada,

Would it be possible to obtain a copy of all speeding tickets, and MuckRock can pull the tickets of interest out of the database itself?

Thank you.

From: Estrada, David

Hi Jasper,

Just to give you and idea D-14 (Allston/Brighton) wrote 7,710 moving violations for 2012 and the database doesn't include streets so each one of these citations would have to be looked at and copied. Again, the cost to you would be in the thousands. Is this request for a news story? Wondering how/if we can make this work for you.
