From: Mary Connaughton Pioneer Institute

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

The reported Standard Occupational Classification numbers with the associated names, position titles, position type (full- or part-time), and pay of all employees for the years 2010 and 2016.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Mary Connaughton Pioneer Institute

Good Day,:

This communication is in response to your Request for Public Information, dated August 17, 2017, for information on full and part-time time public employee names, job titles, and salaries for the year's 2010 and 2016.

At this time, we do not have the information for 2010, as we did not classify our faculty or staff by Standard Occupational Codes (SOC.). In order to fill this request, our Human Resources Department would need to recreate the information which is in the IPEDS report, in summary form for 2016. This process would be time-consuming and would involve your authorization and approval of incurring preparation costs.

Please advise if you would like us to prepare and forward to you an estimate of time and costs for preparing this information.

Should you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Best,

Kali R. Cofield

Thank you very much. I sincerely appreciate your help, time, and diligence in this matter. There is no need to recreate the data in retrospect for 2010. If, instead, it would be possible to receive the requested IPEDS data for 2016, that would be ideal.

However, if there is any additional descriptive internal categorization of employees in 2010, whether it be census code data or an in-house system, I would be very interested in receiving that data as well.

Thank you once again.

Best,
