From: Todd Feathers

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

Copies of ledgers or any other mechanism the department uses to document reward money payouts, either through the Crime Stoppers program or other rewards. If possible, I would like records dating back as far as 2004. If that is not possible, however, I would be willing to revise my request for a shorter time span.

I also request that all fees be waived for this request, as I am a journalist employed by the Boston Globe and MuckRock, and I intend to use the requested records to educate the public.

I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Todd Feathers

Todd,

Below is a response to your records request regarding information
surrounding CrimeStoppers awards. Due to the anonymity of the program, the
BPD does not keep ledgers of awards given. Below is a list of the total
amounts of each award provided during the calendar years 2010-2014 as well
as the total yearly amounts for those years. In order to protect the
identity of those receiving awards, the BPD does not possess nor provide
any additional information.

We will consider this request closed.

Thanks,

Lt. McCarthy
