Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, ยง10, I hereby request the following records:
Hard of hearing documents.
Any and all documents, emails, internal memos, memoranda, letters, policies, orders, ordinances, etc. about a) hard of hearing access, b) provisions for hard of hearing access, c) etc. to Public Meetings of Boston City Council and City Council Public Meetings' video/audio recordings' accessibility for people hard of hearing.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

To Mr. Saklad:
The City Council was forwarded your public records request concerning hard
of hearing access to public meetings of the Boston City Council on February
11, 2014. Please be advised that the City Council will conduct a review of
its records to determine if such documents exist in response to your
request. Also, please provide further clarification of the time period for
the documents subject to this request.
Please be advised that pursuant to Massachusetts Public Records Law, the
City of Boston follows a formula for the search, segregation, review and
copying of each requested document. $0.20 per page is the allowed charge
for photocopies of public records, $0.50 per standard page for computer
printouts and there will be a per hour charge if needed relative to the
processing time for the public records request based on the hourly wage of
the employee capable of performing this task.
After completing its initial search for your requested records, the Boston
City Council shall provide you with an estimate of the total cost of
producing the documents you requested be it paper or electronic. To
receive the documents, you will need to forward the check in the amount
stated payable to the City of Boston.
Upon receipt of your payment, the Boston City Council will forward you the
requested documents.
