Hi Michael
I reached out to our Homicide Unit to see if we have anything responsive.
I am leaving on vacation this afternoon and not back until the 26th. The second half of your request will be quite labor intensive.  I am also the only person assigned to public records and as you can imagine receive quite the number of requests on a daily basis. This will take me months to complete.  Please let me know if you would like to narrow down your request to something more manageable.
Thank you,
Martha

Hello, Martha.
I thank you for responding.
Assuming BPD can fulfill my request for the electronic spreadsheets (e.g., Excel files) summarizing BPD Firearms Discharges for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 and the summaries contain what I'm looking for, I may not need the final reports, at least not in the short run.
Thank you.
Michael.

Hello, Martha.

I hope you had a wonderful vacation and summer. How is the fall looking for you and me regarding fulfillment of my records request? Again, if I can just get copies of Excel sheets like this one that I randomly found online https://www.dropbox.com/s/qmzziyhqum6dkk3/FDIT%202010%20Summary%20SM%20(1).xlsx?dl=0 for the years requested that would be sufficient to complete my request. I assume that such Excel sheets exist already for some of the years I've requested. So, I'm not requesting the BPD create new records.

All the best.

Michael

Hi, Martha. Happy New Year. After 6 months, I'm trying to remain positive that the BPD will complete my request for information. But I'm having a hard time staying optimistic about it. If BPD won't fulfill the request, I'd rather just know it and its reasons, allowing me to either appeal or move on instead of continuing to cheerfully inquire to no end, wasting your time and mine. Still, I truly hope BPD will fulfill my information request, as I'm not asking for something that's a burden to produce, given I've provided evidence BPD has in the past produced Excel spreadsheets that would meet my information request.
