Good Afternoon Connor,

Thank you for reaching out in regards to this request. Please note that Lt. Williston, the BPD Public Information Officer, and the Academy Training Sergeant are unaware of any records of any members of the Birmingham Police Department going to Israel for training.

While we are aware that training profiles, standard operating procedures, use-of-force policies, discharge-of-firearm policies, and reporting-of-incidents policies are public writings as contemplated by section 36-12-40 of the Code of Alabama, we have no records that meet the description of the records being requested.

Thank you,
Emily Poole

Hi Emily,

Is it possible that someone has attended the event more than five years ago? The ADL has listed the Birmingham PD as having sent a high ranking officer. If possible, the easiest way to find out is to do a search using "@adl.org" addresses and see if any e-mails have come to the PD.

Thank you,

Connor
