To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Seeking all publicly available case files concerning the unidentified woman who was recently linked to Fredonia Smith, who was killed in Macon (Bibb) in 1982.
"August 19, 1982, near Washington Park. A female’s body was found in the back yard of a residence on Magnolia Street," Bibb deputies say in a release. "The female was found to have been strangled to death. Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators determined that the homicide that Little had confessed to was that of Fredonia Smith." Incident reports have proven incredibly helpful.
I am co-creator, researcher, and writer of The Fall Line podcast of Exactly Right Media, an investigative project that raises awareness of the cold cases of people who’ve historically been marginalized. We are working with or have worked with a variety of law enforcement agencies, including APD, Dekalb Medical Examiner, and a GBI regional office to bring attention to cold cases.
Our goal is to make our audience (5 million and counting) aware of these cases and to boost public interest in cold cases, with the hopes of providing law enforcement with new tips and/or information in case.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Ms. Norton:
The following is in response to your Open Records Request received by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office regarding the above referenced request.
Attached is a copy of the initial incident case report. The only record available is the initial case report; this is still an open case.
According to O.C.G.A. 50-18-72(a) (4), the other requested records are exempt. Records of law enforcement, prosecution, or regulatory agencies in any pending investigation or prosecution of criminal or unlawful activity, other than initial police arrest reports and initial incident reports so long as the investigation or prosecution is “no longer deemed to be pending”.
Please feel free to contact me at (478) 803-2393, or by email at bso<mailto:bso>email@example.com if you have any questions.
