Pursuant to the Washington Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Records sufficient to show the names, badge numbers, respective dates, and the type of time off of all police officers and/or employees who requested any personal time off, vacation days, personal days, furlough days, or any other time off for the dates of, on, or between Jan 3, 2021 and January 9, 2021 AS WELL AS requests made for time off for the dates of, on, or between Jan 17, 2021 and January 23, 2021.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Today January 13, 2021, our office received your request for a records involving - Records sufficient to show the names, badge numbers, respective dates, and the type of time off of all police officers and/or employees who requested any personal time off, vacation days, personal days, furlough days, or any other time off for the dates of, on, or between Jan 3, 2021 and January 9, 2021 AS WELL AS requests made for time off for the dates of, on, or between Jan 17, 2021 and January 23, 2021.

Tracking number 2021-0062 has been assigned to your request, please use this number on all correspondence associated with this request for records. This email serves to acknowledge said request pursuant to RCW 42.56.520.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office is reviewing your request and has determined additional time is needed to search for potentially responsive documents, review for potential exemptions under the law and prepare an exemption log if applicable. Based on the above, the number of requests being processed, current staffing and workload, we estimate the releasable records will be available to you by April 14, 2021. Should this estimate need to be revised, we will notify you as soon as possible.

We are reviewing this request and have determined that additional time is needed for the search of potentially responsive documents and legal review of exemptions under the law. Based on the above and the number of requests our office is currently processing, the records will be released to you on an installment basis.

Attached to this email is the first installment of responsive to your request. In the event any of the documents provided to you appear to be privileged or exempt, the disclosure is inadvertent, and the County does not waive any applicable exemption or privilege. If you become aware that any of the documents provided to you appear to be exempt from disclosure, please notify me immediately and promptly return the erroneously released document.

We estimate the next installment of records will be available to you by May 12, 2021, with an estimated completion date of June 24, 2021. Should these estimates need to be revised, we will notify you as soon as possible.
