Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request records sufficient to show the following data points:

• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers employed under the jurisdiction of this agency as of May 27, 2019.
• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers that voluntarily resigned from their positions at the department (and otherwise left roles held as of May 27, 2019) for the period from May 27, 2019 through July 27, 2019.
• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers employed under the jurisdiction of this agency as of July 27, 2019.

• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers employed under the jurisdiction of this agency as of May 25, 2020.
• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers that left or resigned from their positions at the department (and otherwise quit) for the period from May 25, 2020 through July 25, 2020.
• The number of law enforcement and/or police officers employed under the jurisdiction of this agency as of July 25, 2020.

These documents are being requested as part of the fact-finding effort for a journalistic piece. Along with the completed journalistic product, these records will be made available to the general public. This request is being made by a journalist at a non-profit news organization. It is not being made for commercial purposes, and it would be appreciated if your agency would process this request with the appropriate recognition that it is a request being made in the public interest.
