BPD Active Employees List

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting the list of all active employees of the Baltimore City Police Department, as of April 8, 2019 or as close as possible. These records are kept by the Human Resources department and should contain the following fields:

- Sequence number
- Employee ID number
- First name
- Last name
- Middle name
- Ethnic group
- Sex
- Service date
- Rehire Date
- Promotion Date
- Job Code
- Job Title
- Supervisor ID
- Position number
- Grade
- GL Pay Type
- Locality

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, in an Excel spreadsheet if available or CD-ROM if not.

If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law. If you determine that some portions of the requested records are exempt from disclosure, please provide me with the portions that can be disclosed.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires, as the statute requires.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I understand there are payroll records for city employees on the Open Baltimore website, but I would like to request more up-to-date records than what is on Open Baltimore since that is only updated yearly. Plus some of the data points that I'm requesting aren't on the Open Baltimore website (e.g. sequence number). I've received the list of active employees from BPD's HR department in previous MPIA requests, in case that is of any help.
