Employee listing (Auburn Enlarged City School District)

Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

A listing of every officer and/or employee of the agency, including name, office address, title and salary.

Per NEW YORK PUBLIC OFFICERS LAW, ARTICLE 6, Section 87(3)(b):

"Each agency shall maintain:
[....]
(b) a record setting forth the name, public office address, title and salary of every officer or employee of the agency."

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Respectfully, there is no provision in the NYS Freedom of Information Law that permits an agency to require submission of requests via a particular form.

Per the Executive Director of the Committee on Open Government, "although an agency may require that a request be made in writing pursuant to §89(3), there is no provision in the Freedom of Information Law that refers to the use of any particular form. Consequently, it has consistently been advised that any written request that reasonably describes the records sought should suffice." (See the COOG website: http://docs.dos.ny.gov/coog/ftext/f14246.htm).

As such, respectfully, please proceed with the processing of all four (4) requests submitted to the Auburn City School District.
