RE: Public Records Request
Dear Samuel Sinyangwe,
We received your request for all current policies regarding police use of force. I have attached a copy of the Arlington Police Department's General Orders for the Use of Force. You will notice that a portion of the policies have been redacted. This sections was removed pursuant to a ruling from the Attorney General's Office allowing us to withhold the information. Because the circumstances have not changed, we are relying on that previous determination and redacting that portion of the policies in response to your request. Please see the Attorney General's open letter rulings OR2013-17148 and OR2013-10884 for additional information. Please note that because the City was closed for business on May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day, today is the 10th business day following your request.
