To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the state open records law, Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. Secs. 39-121 to 39-122 and 39-128, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all files you hold on Charles C. Morgan.
Tucson escrow agent Charles C. Morgan's body was found lying near his new Mercury Cougar 40 miles west of Tucson 11 days after he disappeared on March 22, 1977.
Morgon's death sparked rumours he was involved with or investigating massive amounts of money laundering.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.
You submitted a public records request regarding Charles Morgan. However, I am unable to conduct a name search in our systems without a date of birth for this individual. Please also note that our retention for records at DPS is only 25 years, so if we did have any records for this, they are more than likely already purged since this happened in 1977.
