To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to Michigan's Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:
A Shapefile or CSV containing at minimum the Address Points (house # and street name) and their corresponding Latitude/Longitude. If additional data such as the Unit Number, City, Zipcode, Parcel Id exists they should be included as well.
If this cannot be accessed, the parcel file including situs address would suffice.
Other names for this include: E911 Address Database, Civic Address File, Parcel Dataset, Land Ownership Dataset, Tax Parcels, Address Points.
I also intent to publish the data via the OpenAddresses Publication platform and would request a waiver of fees for the request.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
I have attached our GEO file for you. I hope this will fulfill your request.
If you have any questions, feel free to call.
Arenac County Central Dispatch
126 N. Grove St., PO Box 747,
Arenac County is an equal opportunity provider.
Thanks for sending that file along! I was hoping however to get the address points for the county, does such a thing exist?
The file you sent me is awesome but is the address interpolation data for the line segments.
Our CAD map does not contain addresses.
Awesome Thanks for letting me know! Really appreciate your help!
Any chance you know who manages the address points for the county to point me in the right direction?
Just wanted to touch base again, what department in the county would be the best to contact that manages civic addresses.
I am not aware of any department within Arenac County government that deals
with addresses. In Arenac County, addresses are assigned by Comsumers
Energy, the local power company, when a customer orders electrical service.
Some counties in Michigan have local ordinances that give them authority to
issue address, but Arenac County does not.
